Cooking Light |
Cooking Light was composed on my homemade marimbas for an Orff class taught in the summer of 1998 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia. The marimbas were made with the help of gifted and talented students in Augusta County Virginia in summer school in 1998. The piece is published by Beatin' Path Publications and is available at their website (http://www.beatinpathpublications.com";>www.beatinpathpublications.com) |
Dude |
Dude is a little blues based on a bass riff that an eighth grader started playing at lunchtime on a bass marimba. He had one chord down pretty good, we put it in basic 12 bar blues and retired to the computer to add parts and melody. Here's the result. This one will be played at our school Pops Concert this year! |
Jamaica Jazz |
This piece was composed by an eighth grade student of the Stewart Orff Ensemble at S. G. Stewart Middle School in Fort Defiance Virginia. It was arranged by Brent M. Holl and published by Beatin' Path Publications in this version. (www.listen.to/orffbp) |
Jewe (Gathering) |
Jewe or gathering, is a 6/8 groove composed by the Stewart Orff Ensemble at S. G. Stewart Middle School in 1996. It has taken a life of it's own in the ensemble with each year's class making their own version. This version is published through Beatin' Path Publications at www.listen.to/orffbp. |
